REFERRALS TO APPROPRIATE AGENCIES
We have established close relationships with agencies around the country to which we can refer you. We can also refer you based on specific family needs e.g. agencies which work with single men and women and same sex couples. We have long standing relationships with several domestic agencies, facilitators and consultants which may provide the perfect resource for your adoption.
HOME STUDY UPDATES
Our home studies meet all requirements for Texas and all other states through which you may be adopting.
If you already have a home study and are pursuing a subsequent adoption, or if you’ve moved to Texas from out of state and need to update your study to include new information, we can provide these necessary services for a fee which is much less than competing agencies.
POST-ADOPTION SUPERVISION
Domestic adoption generally requires that you meet Texas licensing standards for post-adoption supervision, which includes five in-person visits within the first 6 months of placement. We provide all these post-adoption services.
STAFF
SUSAN ETHERIDGE
Susan Etheridge has been a social worker for the past 36 years having completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington in 1993. She worked with Child Protective Services for 20 years retiring as the Director in Dallas with a staff of over 400. She has also worked with local non-profits specializing in children in the Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex. Susan has a long-standing interest and love for adoption beginning to work with Adoption Assistance and Support in 1997. She has helped numerous clients with adoption studies to make their dreams come true.
SUSAN MCKAY
Susan McKay has been a social worker for the past 50 years, having completed her Masters’ Degree in Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin in 1973. She worked for several years as a private psychotherapist and worked 27 years with Child Protective Services in Dallas. She began working with domestic adoption in 1982. She currently owns an independent fully licensed home study services provider for domestic adoption, post-adoption supervision, and second parent/step-parent adoptions. She and social worker Susan Etheridge can refer you to an agency with whom they are affiliated for matching services.
